Edward Winters is an American film producer, advocate for wildlife, and co-founder of the boutique production company Winterstone Pictures in Los Angeles. He also serves as co-founder of The Wild Beauty Foundation, where he plays an integral role in leading public awareness efforts to protect wild horses and wildlife across the United States.
A graduate of Wingate University with a degree in finance — and a former competitive collegiate golfer — Edward began his career in New York, working for Merrill Lynch and fintech platform Folio Dynamix before transitioning into the entertainment industry.
In 2013, he moved to Los Angeles and partnered with filmmaker (and now wife) Ashley Avis.
On the feature side, Edward served as Executive Producer on Black Beauty for Disney+, starring Oscar winner Kate Winslet, Mackenzie Foy, and Iain Glen. He also produced the Critics Choice–nominated documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West, which has become a cornerstone of WBF’s educational and legislative impact.
Alongside Ashley, Edward has lobbied in Congress to advocate for the passage of critical legislation like the SAFE Act, working with lawmakers, nonprofits, and agencies to elevate the conversation around wild horse protection. His strategic leadership has helped grow WBF into a nationally recognized voice for equine advocacy.
In addition to his work in film and advocacy, Edward has produced over one hundred commercial campaigns for brands including Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Mercedes-Benz, Pfizer, and Foot Locker.
He lives in Los Angeles with Ashley and their rescue pup, Whiskey.
